Rather than narrowing the distance between us, we are raising walls higher. We exist in the same place, yet do not face one another, and even the light remains only within each person’s own window.

In the past, we gathered around a bonfire and looked toward a single flame. Our warmth became the interior, and the shadows untouched by that warmth formed the outer space. Before that fire, through conversation and silence, we became of one mind and formed a community.

In this way, the foundation for the earliest architecture was created. It took shape as a circular structure rooted in connection and sharing.

If this firelight no longer remains only within architecture, but begins to illuminate the walls and windows, then we may once again draw a single circle. Envisioning a community that sits around the star shining within the cold walls and reflects one another’s hearts, I paint a space between reality and dream. I hope that the small light we cast may become the beginning of breaking down the immense walls within our hearts.

우리는 서로의 거리를 좁히기보단 벽을 높여가고 있다.

같은 곳에 있지만 서로를 마주하지 않고, 불빛조차 각자의 창문 안에서만 머문다.

과거 모닥불을 중심으로 둘러앉아 하나의 불꽃을 바라보던 우리의 온기는 내부가 되고 온기가 닿지 않는 그림자가 외부 공간으로 만들어졌다.

그 불꽃 앞에서 이야기와 침묵을 나누며 한마음이 되고 공동체가 되었다.

그렇게 최초의 건물이 만들어지는 시초가 되었다. 이것은 연결과 나눔의 원형 구조로 자리 잡았다.

이 불빛이 건물에서만 머무르지 않고 창밖을 비추기 시작할 때, 우리는 다시 하나의 원을 그릴 수 있다.

차가운 벽 속에서 빛나는 별을 중심으로 앉아 서로의 마음을 비추는 공동체가 되기를 꿈꾸며, 현실과 꿈의 공간을 그린다.

우리가 비추는 작은 불빛 하나가 거대한 마음의 장벽을 허무는 시작이 될 수 있기를.
